Dear Sig,
The biggest challenges with a 3rd time open heart surgery are technical.  There is a significant amount of scar tissue that must be cut through and this can be very difficult and time consuming.  Finding veins and places to put them can be difficult for the bypass grafts.  You want to be sure your surgeon has experience in 3rd time open heart surgeries.  Our surgeons here have extensive experience with repeat heart surgery.  If your cardiologist would like to send you here I would recommend Dr. Lytle.  Other than the technical demands the surgery is very similar to your prior surgeries and you should do fine.  Best wishes.
