Tingling/vibrating in chest followed by acute pain

Hello,
I am a healthy, active 39 year old female. For the past several months I have had one problem. I have a tingling, vibrating sensation in my chest that is localized approx 1' to the right of my breastbone. It occurs mostly at rest and wakes me from sleep, altho now it seems to come more frequently. Often after prolonged episodes I have acute localized pain. I have had an EKG and an echo both of which were thankfully negative.
Could anyone shed some light on this for me? I am not one to dwell or agonize over things but I just have a gut feeling that something may be wrong but I feel like my dr has dismissed me. Should I keep pursuing this or ask for another test? I have read about coronary artery spasms and it seems that I have some similar symptoms. I'm just at a loss about what to do next.

Not sure it's relevent considering my age, but I guess I should mention that my father has had a few heart attacks and stents.
