You said in my post down below that I MUST relax my arm to allow a good blood pressure reading.
You failed to respond to my comment that the blood pressure cuff causes me a LOT OF PAIN!!  (Do you know anything about Fibromyalgia???)
Any suggestions how I might be able to relax?  I've tried various things and frankly, none of them work consistently. I wish I COULD relax - however, the pain from the cuff at times borders on unbearable.

Dear Mickie, thank you for your question.  I realize that the BP cuff is uncomfortable, but it shouldn't be inflated for more than 15-20 seconds before the deflation begins.  Perhaps you could take some Motrin or another pain reliever before you need to have your BP checked. However, if you do have high blood pressure, it's important that you have your BP checked on a regular basis despite the pain it causes.
I hope you find this information useful.  Information provided in the heart forum is for general purposes only.  Only your physician can provide specific diagnoses and therapies. Please feel free to write back with additional questions.  Good luck.
