Toporol

The "angina" I reported to my primary physician is actually a rarely occurring, brief and rather mild cramping feeling in the heart area.  That report led to a stress test with sonogram.  The EKG is good but the sonogram shows a POSSIBLE problem, so I'm scheduled for a catheter to have a closer look at some valves.  I will go for the catheter but the doctor has prescribed Toporol.  I have researched this drug and I don't like what I see re: side effects.

With the exception of the mild, brief and occasional "angina" occurrences I feel fine.  I walk 1-1/2 mile every day, do 100 pushups and ten 80 pound barbell curls to stress my heart and I take a handful of supplements and I have no medical problems.  So I'm wonder if this Toporol prescription might be somewhat excessive at this time.

Am I making a mistake?
