Transitrial Procedure

Dear CCF Cardiothoracic Surgery Staff,

I have a family member who has undergone a replacement of his pacemaker which he has been utilizing for approximately 10 years. He is a candidate for the Transitrial procedure. Could you provide information about the procedure, risk factors, and expected outcome (e.g. success rate)? In addition, could you tell me how long the surgery will take and expected recovery time?

Drs Sabic and Wilcoff would probably be the surgeons. Could you provide a brief background about these physicians?

I appreciate your time and effort.

Thank you, Brian

I'm not sure what procedure you are referring to.  Why is he getting this procedure?  Do you mean transatrial?  This is an approach but not a procedure in itself.  As far as physician backround you can find this on the Heart center webpage under the staff heading.
