Treatment suggestions

I am an active 24 year old female.  I have had two catheter ablation procedures done in the last 1 1/2 years to correct severe SVT tachycardia.  They have been unsuccessful because I have a web of accessory pathways in my heart.  I am now taking a beta-blocker nadolol (which makes me very tired), but I am concerned as to whether or not this is a long-term solution to this problem especially because of my age.  Are there any other possible solutions that you could recommend?  Also, there is a suspicion that I also have flutter arrythmia- how is that treated?  Thank you very much for taking the time to reply to these concerns as I have been unable to find any answers thus far.

Dear  Brooke,
Topic Area: Tachycardia
I am not sure what kind of ablations you have had and what the anatomic pathways of your heart are like.  Have all options for ablation been explored?  There are many other drugs that can be used if ablation is not a possibility.  I suggest you discuss your concerns with your physician.  If you are not getting answers you may consider seeking a second opinion with a cardiologist.  The type of cardiologist that deals with these problems is called an electrophysiologist.
