Treponin Levels

Hello everyone. Can anyone help me?
My Dad (80) was taken to hospital last night with severe chest pain. They tell me it was a "heart attack". Treponin levels are 5.4 but he does have some kidney disease? They won't tell me a lot more at the moment. How bad is 5.4 ?
Any answers will be most welcome, many thanks.

My troponin was elevated for a week and I had a stent that had become blocked. They did the cath as soon as I entered the ER and the troponin levels were checked.  Have they done this with your dad?  What about the echo, have they ordered this yet?

5.4 is very high but the level doesn't necessarily relate to the damage if any. The longer an attack goes on before intervention, the higher the level will be. The troponin they test for is unique to heart muscle. My troponin was very high also because my heart had been releasing it for a few weeks prior to the MI, I was having bad angina which I believed was stomach problems. I have no muscle tissue damage although the troponin was high.
