Tricyclic Medicines for pain and link to CVD

I am a 44 year old male in good health, very active. I do have low hdl, moderately high triglycerides, but normal cholesterol and low LDL. There is maternal cholesterol issues and grandfather died of a heart attack on mom's side. The one health condition I have is a trigeminal neuropathic pain condition, localized chronic dental pain due to dental work years ago. Last year I took a tricyclic antidepressant(Nortiptaline) to help calm the nerve pain condition. That was taken for 8 weeks. This spring I took another TCA amitriptaline for 6 weeks and stopped due to side effects. My pain doctor wants me to try nortriptaline again for another trial. I recently read reports that these medicines have been linked to heart disease. With my lipid issues, is there risk for contributing to heart disease if I take this medicine or adding to my risk? I may take this medication for several weeks or for a year of more. My diet is healthy, I take supplements such as coq10, fish oil and resveratrol and exercise regularly. Normal EKG at physical 3 years ago.
