Undiagnosed

Any help would/suggestion would be greatly appreciated.  The situation is that my mother has been experiencing facial edema for roughly 7 months with at minimum a once a month occurrence.  She has been to her general practitioner several times and he/she has been unable to diagnose the problem.  She has congestive heart disease, which runs in my family, her mother currently has it, and her father died of it at the age of 66.  My concern is that this maybe her body’s attempt to show signs of a clogged artery or some other potentially fatal issue.  To complicate matters she is currently without health insurance and will not be on Medicare until next April.  So any suggestions or advice would be helpful.  Thanks.

If she requires hospitlization tell the administrator who takes the paperwork you wish her to be treated as a "Hill-Burton" patient. This law mandates that hospitals recieving federal aid treat a certain percentage of patients without charge.
