HI
I assume you had a urinary catheter, just for a few days post surgery? What you describe is not at all uncommon from one of those tubes being used. Some Doctors argue that it is from long term usage, but many people have different symptoms from just a few days usage. I found I was going more often and to let out the same volume as pre-op, it was taking me less than half the time. I was also hyper sensitive. I think it took mine about 6 months so settle down again, but the sensitivity lasted just over a year.

Hi there, joey452

7 weeks post-op bypass is early days, but I would be conserned about the frequent urinating as you can get an electrolyte imbalance and the frequent urinating can be a side effect from one of the medications you are on:

Atacand plus:  side-effects:  symptoms of high blood sugar (e.g., frequent urination)

Definitely mention this to your Doctor/Surgeon!
