V-tach

V-tach

How long can one be in v-tach before death occurs from it?  I was in and out
of it last year for a few weeks and with each passing attack it became worse.
Till I finally went to hospital. I was in v-tach for a few hours that night. Then
I was still going in and out of it for the 10 days I was in hospital. Thankfully
I had a RFA and not one single episode since. I guess I just wanted to know
how serious v-tach is because I didn't want to know before. My heart rate was
alternating between 180 to 220bpm. and I was in bigemy the whole time also. Thank
you to everyone who works on this forum. It has been a termendous help to me and
my emotional healing since being diagnoised with PPCM and RVOT.

Dear Jamie,
Thank you for your question.  In general VTACH is not a rhythm you want to stay in for very long.  As long as your body is tolerating it you can stay in but as soon as you body stops tolerating it you have a high risk of dying.
