Vagal Nerve

by bill145, Nov 24, 2008 02:08PM
On occasion after an abdominal work out or weight lifting that puts strain on the solar plexus area, if I sit down (especially in a crunched position) I will get a rapid and pounding heart beat which is very scarry.  This will usually last about 5 to 7 minutes then I will usually belch and the symphtoms will abruptly subside.  Could this be the Vagal Nerve causing this?

Perplexed!

My 17 yr old son, whom is in VERY good shape, gets light headed & feels as if he'll pass out, eyes glassy & feels "buggy", inside mouth under tongue burns & bp shoots up when he does this same stuff. It did it during a stress test as well. I wonder if going to a chiropractor would help. My son has had trouble w/ his neck for years due to birth method (vacume suction) & was prone to migrains & such. He will be going to a chiro prior to his next stress test!
