Vasodilation

What can you tell me about vasodilation?  I have suffered from panic attack and stress related anxiety.  I am taking atenolol to control a mild hypertenstion due to stress.  During times of stress such as public speaking, sex, insyufficient sleep I have found myself coming out in a sort of red rash on the neck, under side of upper arms , sometimes chest and back.  This seems to be some sort of vasodilation which I believe can be linked to the bodies way of trying to relieve a high blood pressure.  This seems to be a stress response.  Can you tell me anything about it?  My own doctor told me it was because of too much adrenalin in the blood -- the beta blocker and cognitive techniques I am practicing will help with that I hope.

Many thanks,

Gordon.

If you mean that you are getting flushed during times of stress, the beta blocker and cognitive techniques should help. If you really mean a rash, I do not think that can be blamed on stress and you ought to see a dermatologist.
