Very high cholesterol at 28!

by Hanan163, Nov 08, 2009 08:12AM
We have a strong family history on the paternal side of high cholesterol. The first time I did the test at the age of 26, it was 326. I didn't pay much attention to it, thinking it was still too early to consider treatment. Two years later I tested again and it was 443!!! My LDL was high too...300 sth. But my TG were normal and my HDL is good...62. I was started on Lipitor at first, and I would test every month to see if there was an improvement. After trying and testing, I am now on Lipitor 80mg and Ezetrol 10mg. My tests now are all normal. I thought it was a good call to start on medication...is it too early? Should I worry about being on medication? Honestly I'm not and I feel "safe" this way. On another level, I'm gonna have to stop my medication once I decide to get pregnant.
