Very slow recovery time....

Very slow recovery time....

I had 3 stents fitted in Feb this year and feel my recovery is very slow.  Infact its snail pace!   Although I have many other illnesses this is the one that makes me most anxious.  I am a diabetic injecting twice daily, have an underactive thyroid, recurring abdominal hernias, gallstones and a small cycst in my liver.  I dont drink or smoke have a sweet tooth which I manage to control until I feel tired and depressed.  I dont sleep well but I do attend my cadio rehab classes weekly. No one in the medical word will talk to me about life expectancy.  I have been past off as recovered but depressed where do I go from here!

Thanks for giving me your time tonight
Kind regards
Liz

There really isn't a recovery time as such from Stenting. Once the arteries are opened, the impact is immediate. Cardiac rehab is used to try and get your heart exercised and fitter. If you have seen no benefit since the stenting then I would ask your cardiologist if there are other blockages which they left, feeling they didnt require treatment. It could also be your medication. If you are on high dosages of beta blockers you can feel fatigued and lethargic all the time. If you speak to your GP, he/she may be willing to lower your dose to see if you improve. It can take a few weeks to establish the correct balance of this medication.
