Viral myocarditis?

Viral myocarditis?

I am a 24 year old male  was very active as of September 2007 then I began to get fatigued very easily I would feel horrible after exercise. At the end of December I began to feel mild chest pain that went to my back and shoulder. Also have been constipated since. I saw a cardiologist had an echo done EF was 30-35% he suspected viral myocarditis leading to dilated cardiomyopathy. I was prescribe vasotec and coreg. I then got another echo in the beginning of March 2008 my EF 25%. Around the beginning of April 2008 I started to get short of breath. Should I feel comfortable with the diagnosis of viral myocarditis? If not what else should I do?

I think you should have a very thorough work up of your cardiomyopathy.  Even though viral cardiomyopathy is most likely, you should make sure that this is not related to coronary anomaly, arrhythmia, etc.  You should probably go to see an experienced cardiologist.
