WHOS IN THIS PAC BOAT? Who is in the Rythmol boat?

Afer I eat for the most part but throughout the day about 4-8 hours a day I have PACs. They come in every beat (about 30 minute) down to 5 per minute. I went to the doctor yesterday and is taking me off toprol 12mg (was on 50mg and tappering off) and putting me on Rythmol 225 2xday.
He took an ekg and showed pacs every 2 beats and hr of 71. My bp was 120/67. When I arrived I was not feeling well and the bp was 87/41 which made the nurse nervous. I was a bit laggard but with it.

How are you experiences with pacs and rythmol?

If the rythmol does not smooth these frequent pacs out then my doc is going to map out my heart. He thinks they are coming from the upper right atrium.

i have been recorded on a 24 hr holtor to have more pac than pvc had 3000 in 24 hours, so i know about pac, yes my dr says pac comes from top part of eart but they are harmless pac are the less harmless she told me so are pvc but that they never worry about pac they never turn into anything but a harmless pac thats what my cardio dr told me. so am told i should be happy thats the ones i have , but when you have them for weeks all day long you dont feel so happy. i switch meds to i went off timolol to atenolol i have been flutter free now for 2 days been on it 9 so , hope it keeps working i take 12.5 am 12.5 pm , was tired when i first started on it but its getting better , i have been ubder lots stress my mom had cancer surgery (which turned out great) so i guess that helped the flutters along for 9 weeks now every thing settling down , so hope to get my life back in order. but yes they can be bad hang in there and try not stress, even though most time mine just come with no stress, not sure if pac come more with stress or out because mine do their own thing when am very happy and no stress. oh well hope you have a pac freee day .

I was on ryhthmol for pvcs and it helped a lot!  I was having thousands of pvcs per day and the ryhthmol really quieted things down.  I took it 3x a day, every 8 hours like clockwork, but can't recall the dose....Good luck!

Hey all, just thought I'd let you in on a little secret that may make you really excited.  I've had heart palpatations for about 4 years now and they would come on arounbd the 4th of each month and be so strong that I'd get really dizzy, almost pass out, and really scared.  They would last for 12 hours each time... trust me when I say they were bad!   I finally found something that really stopped my palps and haven't had many in the last 6 months, and if I do they are really light and maybe a few seconds long.  I've been so happy leaving them behind.  Here's what I take.    L-Carnitine "Fumerate"  caps.  I took them for 2 months at 2000 mg per day spread out, and when they stopped all together I stopped taking the l carn all together.  I usually have a few small palps as sort of a warning before the big boys kick in, at which time I'll pop 1000 mg and they never surface.  They are a bit expensive, but for me, they are my cure.  Good luck and I hope they work for you.  Remember, get the fumerate version.  I'm not going to say what brand because I'm not selling a product and I suppose any brand should work as long as it is fumerate.

I started my rythmol yesterday 225mg 2xday. And have had about 15 pacs in 36 hours compared to 10,000. I feel a bit disorientated and when I do get a pac it feels scary just because they are so spead out. Had a little trouble going to bed. I feel ok but I think i feel cautious because usually physically i am in hell but now its only mental.

Heartflutters- If ryhmol does not produce progress i will ask about the antenol. Thank you much for replying.

Momto3- Thanks for responding also. Glad rythmol worked for you. If I understood correctly you are no longer on it? How long did you take it?

Herbalman- I have been looking that direction lately in herbs. Found that maybe liquid magnesum helps some people. Have never heard of L-Carntine (Fumerate caps) before. I will research it right now.  Thank you for repsonding to my post.

Happy Memorial Weekend

You're welcome.

After taking rythmol for 3-4 months, I asked my doctor how long I'd have to be on it.  When she said "for the rest of your life," I started to reconsider an attempt at an ablation.  I guess I was hoping that I could take the medicine for awhile and the ectopics would go away.  Anyway, I had 2 ablations in 2003 (RVOT and LVOT) and so far, I have nowhere near the number of pvcs I used to have.

OMYGOSH!  I was just saying that only people with lots of ectopics can understand that SNR actually feels weird (at first).  When I was on the medicine, and my pvcs were way less frequent, it felt "abnormal" to me.  For me, a "normal" heartbeat was arrythmic....Strange.  NOW, when I have ectopics, I'm much more aware.

Good luck with the medicine.

I've been taking rythmol for the last 5 years (225 mg three times daily) and it has worked well for me, keeping my afib in check (most of the time) and no side effects.

I know you said you took the L-Carnitine for 2 months but how long until you felt any effect was it 2 months or earlier.  I get missed beats extra beats flutters etc nearly all day and every day.  I would be grateful for anything that would ease these nuisances.
