WPW

My son (38) was diagnosed at 18 with WPW after he was in a serious motocross accident. About a year ago he started having what appeared to be seizures (although tests showed no seizure activity)   I took him to 2 different neurologists who said they thought it was probably related to the WPW.  I saw 2 electrophysiologists and they both recommended catheter ablation.  This was scheduled at UVA.  When the dr came out, he said the ablation was not performed because he didn't think it was worth the risk.  This is greatly affecting his quality of life. His notes were this:  left freewall accessory pathway with poor antegrade  AV retrograde conduction-- no ablation attempted-- ERP of accessory pathway was 380 msec @ 400 msec antegrade and 280 msec @ 400 msec retrograde  AV normal Sinus normal.......  Could you tell me in simple terms what this means and if I should contact someone else  I had read that I believe Mayo Clinic did open heart surgery for WPW ..

Open heart and catheter ablation are two really different procedures.  I would contact either Cleveland or Mayo Clinic, whichever is closer since both are excellent, and see what they might be able to offer.  I wish him the very best and I hope something can be done for him.
