Weaning off of Metoprolol

My husband takes metoprolol tartrate. He only has one month of medication left and refuses to go back to the Dr. How can I wean him off of the drug so he doesn't have a heart attack or something?

I came down once from 100 mg /day. I had 50 for a week or little longer, then 25mg/half pill/ for an other week or two.... then  the rest I  have left took every second day. I felt perfect for  3-4 weeks or so without it, then my BP went up over 200, so I was running back to my doctor.

Think about that if he also has High BP.

Good luck to him!
