What can I expect?

by Redwing1, Feb 20, 2009 09:42PM
Due to mild chest pain my Dr. ordered a stress test be performed.  Due to my left bundle branch block pharmacologic testing was ordered.
The report states there appears to be a partially reversible myocardial perfusion defect in the basal to mid inferior and inferoseptal wall.  This in in the area of confounding artifact with evidence of a mild grade reversible perfusion defect in the basal to mid anterior wall.  Gated wall motion analsis shows mild reduction in left ventricular systolic funcction with stress imaging.
Conclusions of the test were:
1.  Indeterminate electrocardiographic response to regadenoson injection.
2.  Abnormal SPECT myoview myocardial perfusion and gated wall motion study demonstrating ischemia with underlying nontransmural myocardial infarction in the territory of the right coronary artery.  Additionally there may also be mild grade ischemia in the territory of a diagonal branch artery.  Estimated resting left ventricular ejection fraction is 55%.

The clinic determined I should consider cardiac catheterization.

Cardiac catherization is the gold standard to determine heart blockages as well as EF and other heart functions.  Given the report, I'd have the procedure in a New York minute.
Proceed with confidence, get some answers, and let us know what was found.  Best wishes.
