What could cause a change

Hello,  I have had dilated cardiomyopathy for two years.  My EF has gone from 15% to 50%.  I am on zestril and coreg and my blood pressure has remained very low, about 90/60.  All of a sudden my blood pressure has shot up to around 150/95.  What would cause such changes when I have had such a low pressure for so long?  Thanks, Jan

Dear Jan, thank you for your question. I'm not sure what could cause such a dramatic increase in your EF and BP.  Sometimes, the underlying disease that caused the dilated cardiomyopathy can be reversed with treatment which allows the ejection fraction and heart function to improve.  However, that's just speculation on my part.  I suggest that you ask your physician for further information.
