What could this be?

Okay, this "thing" has been happening to me lately, only the last two days. So I hope someone can shed some light.
I will have this period of time, I would say each one lasted about ten to fifteen minutes where it feels like my heartbeat suddenly takes off and start beating overtime, almost like my heart is working too hard. And then it goes away and things go back to normal again. I do have some anxiety and some heart concerns but I don't believe this is anxiety.
I do have heart disease, I have never had heart pain after my heart stent anyway. It seems to be a heart rhytum thing.
Can someone help me to identify this feeling?

Sorry it took me so long to answer, I'm trying to get all my chores & errands ran early so I can watch the game this afternoon. So, I have been to the doctor, he said I had an abnormal ekg and sent me to the hosp. They wanted to do a nuclear test but I was very sick too so they treated an infection in my chest and let me go with a problem to schudule a test. That test will happen March 7th but then this happens the last couple of days. I took my pulse when it was happening and it was 12 beats in 10 secs x 6=68 kind of low. Today it is 66. My blood pressure has been fluxuating but I'm getting a blood pressure cuff free tomorrow. They said my heart was misfiring. I ask if I'd be alright until March 7th and they said yes. I hope I get that monitor sooner than later. I think I have another blockage. Thank you Ireneo

Have you checked your heart rate? How fast is it going? Does the racing start and stop suddenly? These are all things a doctor would ask you so it's best to be prepared.

There are a few options as to what's going on but if you could visit your doctor, s/he may recommend you wear a heart monitor. That way they can see exactly what electrical activity is going on inside your heart.

If it's only been quite recently, it may be an electrolyte imbalance due to illness or dehydration. Again, this is just guesswork. Anything new with your heart should be discussed with your cardio. You mention you have heart disease and that could easily cause some rhythm issues.
