What is going on??????????

I was just released from the hospital for having chest pain, pressure in the chest, nausea, headache and was very dizzy. When i got to the er my pressure was 164/210  and my pulse rate was 120. They did the ekg and gave me 3 nitro tabs under the tongue every 5 min and nothing was working. So they put me in the hospital and put me on a nitro drip. I did the stress test on the tred mill. Nothing found i had a few spikes that concerned them some but not enough to do the cath. Was i headed for a heart attack??? And why is my pulse rate so high?? They changed my bp pills. And got me into a doctor asap. My pulse has always been high and so i just dont know. But i still have symptoms and pressure is high. WHAT IS THIS AND AM I NEAR A HEART ATTACK???

Sorry, I am late in responding.  Having issues here.  While the no insurance can be a problem (no one knows that better than me), there are other options.  In my area there are university hospitals, and my doctor has always told me over and over again, if he is in a life and death situation and he could utter only a few words it would be "Ben Taub" or UTMB.  Both are university hosptials and cannot refuse anyone.  I would imagine the hospital you were admitted to got you to a stable point and released you.  You still need a long term plan.  I would start by searching out some medical aid if you can.  That isn't always easy though. In my case I make too muh money to qualify for any type of medical assistance.  Too young for Medicare and not disabled enough to qualify for that.  Because I have heart disease I am uninsurable of sorts.  I have been forced to fork out $1200 monthly on a high risk pool plan. And my cardiac issues are not covered for the first 12 months. So, yes in the meantime I have UTMB. (University of Texas Medical Branch) and there are GREAT!
Issues with insurance can become a huge debating stance in here, so I avoid that at all costs.  Some others do not understand how things can play out, and it makes them rather narrow minded.  So, better to stand back than fan the flames.
I will message you with my email address and see what I can find for you. You do need some follow up treatment.  There are also plans on the internet for RX meds.  I cut my costs for those down by 70% in most cases. You just have to be willing to search out of these things.
'Til later, Ally

If you don’t want more post from me, please skip it.

I haven’t seen you mentioned before in none of your post you were on hbp meditation since your middle 20's.. Also you havent say you got different pills ,good!
Then the doctor who prescribed those pills for you are in charge ,he/she should change them for you until it will work well.

I am not rich at all.:). But I also do not upset about it. I wasn’t disrespectful with you. If you felt soo it was your misunderstanding.

Every person in every country has a right to get treatment. One way or the other. But we all personally are responsible to find a way getting help. Being upset, angry, hurt, doesn’t help.Only will give us even higher bp.... But asking, looking for free options for any tests, if we cannot pay if have no insurance that helps a lot, and there are ways.
If you did not had a heart attack why would they keep you in?  It was probably a saying.
They told me too once, like good thing you did not have a heart attack or a stroke, when I wanted to come down from my pills and did. They just gave back my right pills and that’s it.
If you think you need a cath then go after it! Find the way with courage! I don’t know how, but again that is our own responsibility. There are also free clinics
I see you have some issues. No wonder why your lower number went up that high. Why is that so important to you to believe it wasn’t near a heart attack situation because of your high blood p.
It was, even if I am not a doctor. Or if it wasn’t, well…what ever it was, good thing you are alive.
Take a deep breathe deep , smile and all will turn for better. I wish my Best  to you!

No high blood pressure was not all that i had my EKG was showing signs of heart attack. And i have been on blood pressure pills since i was in middle 20's. And you must have lots of money and can just go to the doc when you want to. But i do not. And yes they were going to do the cath but the tred mill and me with no insurance stopped that. I do not like the way you are approaching me. So please do not answer my ????? if you can not be nice and respectful. And i was in the hospital not at the doc i do have an appointment soon they changed my bp pills and put me on something different. You do not know what it is like to have no insurance or be poor and sick.

164/210? How is your blood pressure now? Do you know? If not , you must get a digital bp monitor !"Showed them only some spikes but not enough to do the cath on me." Why would they do a cath on you? You had 'only' high blood pressure, but that is awful high. You need to be on hbp medication, insurance or no insurance, with that number you can get a stroke. You said you quit smoking, well those pills you need even if not covered by any insurance won’t cost more than your cigarette s were. I recommend to you go back to a doctor you need to be on pills probably the rest of your life.
Maybe this is why they said you were near a heart attack, because your very high diastolic # 210 , that should  go  under 100, better if around 80.
Eat potassium, magnesium, and calcium high foods. Especially Magnesium is important because  your very high diastolic. Also dont use salt at all.
Good luck with a doctor, you must find one even if you have to pay. Your life  has more value than a bill from a doctor.

Hey and you can ask me any question that you want i hope i can answer them for you. Well to begin with the stress test they said showed them only some spikes but not enough to do the cath on me. And i think the only reason they sent me home was due to the fact i have no insurance which i told them before they admitted me. But i am use to that with no insurance they treat you like crap. When they admitted me they were nice to me and took care of me till they could not find a legit reason like doing the cath or something to keep me because of the insurance issue. But thanks for the concern and chat with me again.

Is that the only test you had while there?  I am confused as to why they considered you well enough to be released. Your blood pressure was 164/210?  That bottom number is way high.  What was the explanation for that?  I'm sorry I have so many questions.
