What is it?

by kyleb1688, Jan 09, 2009 02:39AM
Okay.  I have this awful problem and need some help.  Every single day now for almost a month straight I have awful problems with my heart.  One minute it will be fine a normal 60 bpms and the next shoot up to 140-150 and I feel like I'm dying. I lose all my breath and it's like I'm gasping for air just to live, like I have to make myself breath otherwise I'm going to die.  When these attacks happen I get a wierd taste in my mouth and a numbness all throughout my throat and upper mouth and it feels like my throat gets constricted.  I also almost faint most of the time and feel like im going to vomit  My doctor says its panic attacks, but I've had those and these aren't like them.  I went for a second opinion and they said it was svt, but it's not like it happens here and there.  The attacks are happening two to three times a day, and when they aren't I go all day with an uncomfortable feeling in my chest like it's empty and sometimes it burns, like my heart is about to stop anytime.  I don't know what it is but I wish someone could please help me.  Im perscribed to a beta blocker which keeps my heart rate at a regular pulse, but I still have the awful feeling all day that I'm going to die or something.  Please help.

Your situation sounds terrible and a bit scary. Maybe your condition isn't your heart. have you seen a pulmonologist or a lung specialist? Sometimes a medical problem expresses itself in one organ due to the illness of another. If your heart is structurally sound and otherwise has no problems you may want to check the lungs. You should definitely see a Cardiologist and a Pulmonlogist.
