What is the difference in a heart murmur and an irregular heart beat.
I have been told I have a heart murmur(which hasn't caused me any problems)
and my parents have been told they both have irregular heart beats. I have
never seen a doctor about my heart but I do see a doctor at least once a year.
They don't seem to be too worried about it because they never say anything about it
When I had an EKG 1980 that when I was told about it. I never had another EKG
until 1997. Nothing was said about the murmur.  However I had another EKG recently
at the same place I had the one in 1997.  They asked me about the murmur and if
I had ever been told I had one. Does a murmur not always show up  I have never
been worried about my heart but since I getting close to 50 I do question it.
