What meds are best for anxiety?

I am taking ativan and seem to get no relief. I would like to know what everyone else takes that helps them alot. And what's everyones opinions on ativan??

I take the occassional Xanax for anxiety, mostly concerning my health. Anything under 4 mg per day is low enough to keep you from being addicted despite what you may hear. It works well for me and has no side effects. I take 1 mg as needed, rarely more than once a day if that.

I see. I was on xanax it was 0.5 mg it did not do any wonders for me and now this ativan doesn't seem to help either.....

Chris , have you tried libirium, or Vailum? i am not sugesting a long term use.
But these meds have helped me.

I have been prescribed Lexapro and gone from 10mg to 20mg.  Still waiting for acceptable results as I am still feeling anxious about my situation.  I'll let you know my progress.
