What should I expect for recovery?

What should I expect for recovery?

On November 22 I underwent an EP study and catheter ablation for WPW. This was following several weeks of being on Procainamide to control the heartbeat.

My doctor told me I could return to work in one week, but at this point I am still feeling somewhat weak after a small amount of exertion. My knees shake after being up for several hours and by mid day I begin to feel lightheaded. This improves after laying down for an hour or so. Is this normal at this point, or should I be concerned?  Thanks for your help- Lynn

Dear Lynn,

It is not usual for people to continue to have this much fatigue after this procedure.  You may want to mention this to your cardiolgist and have your pulse checked.  It may be particularly slow.
