Why normalcy of blood pressure unrelated to CAD?

Why normalcy of blood pressure unrelated to CAD?

I have been maintaining my blood pressure at the neghbourhood of 120/80. Yes, after bypass surgery also it is remaining around the same level. Still I had CAD necessitating bypass surgery.

120/80 is perfect but blood pressure is only one possible cause for coronary artery disease. Others are bad diet, smoking and a hyper active liver. It is even stated it can be hereditary. In fact, a gene has been identified that is switched on in everyone with coronary artery disease (Well I should say 2 genes). If they find a way to switch these genes off, maybe cad will become a thing of the past.
