Worried about consistent High BP

Last week my new doctor put me on LISINOPRIL 10 MG TAB for my high BP. Before that I was on Atelonol 50 MG for 3 weeks. During those three weeks my average BP was around 150/98.
But after taking this ACE inhibitor LISINOPRIL 10 MG, my BP has gone up to 160s/110s (average). I called the Doctor's office and I was told by the nurse on the phone to double the dose (20 MG). But after 4 days of taking the two 10 MG every morning, my BP numbers have not improved. My next appointment is not until next monday (3 days from now) . I am worried about the consistently high numbers even when I am taking the medication. Should I go to Urgent Care or wait 3 days?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hey there,

You didn't mention your age, if you smoke, drink coffee, etc,  I can tell you that I have been struggling with high bp for 30 years and it is finally under control within the past year (150mg atenolol, 10mg Lisinopril, and several other heart medications) You should stay away from caffeine and call your Dr if you're that concerned or go to the ER.

But, blood pressure control is a tricky business and if they go to far the other way, you'll find yourself with extreme tirednes and syncope...been there.

Patience and be well
