hello doctor,
thanx for your responce, doc my problem  is almost solved if it is anxiety, but sir i wants to know is there any medication require for mild MR (EF 64%), because i was not taking any medicine related to my heart MVP proble, i was feeling well there was not any problem related to my body. right now i am taking ace inhibitor very low dose since last 1 month and it is not suiting to my body, i am getting tired with any excessive work.

can i stop this medicine , i have only fear of any serious problem with my heart.

Hello,

I understand your desire to be on no medications.  If you have high blood pressure or boarderline blood pressure, then an ACEI is a great choice.  If you don't have anyother indications for blood pressure medication, this is probably a judegement call -- if you have only mild MR.  If you really desire to stop the medication, you should sit down with yout doctor and talk about.  I would need to know the full story and see the studies to make a definite judgement about medications.  Sometimes the indications are more gray (than black or white) and this may be one of those cases.

I hope this helps.  Good luck and thanks for posting.

To: hello doctor
i have no high BP problem avrage it is 130/90, my doc has prescribed me ACEI pecautionary to prevent any futur problem.
the day when i went to my doc after ECG he told me things are ok yyou can go to work from tomorrow with metoprolol 12.5. by the first dose of this beta blocker i got tremor it has gave me fear of hear problem. then i again went to my doc he said let we take echo. to see that report and he compare with last report it was same i.e thickended mild MVP with Mild MR and trivial TR only defference was in EF with 1%. ealier it was EF 65% done 6 yr back, and this time it was EF64% , to looking this fraction my doc told me if the rate of percentage gradually decreases in this situation you will have to replace your valve. and he started one more medicine i.e Ramipril. since last 4 month i was taking both the medicine but this was giving me adverse effect. i told to my doc he stop beta block , he said ok. through this i got relif upto the limit iand i am started to go  outside otherwise it was giving me fear of heart problem. now i am taking only ramipril but i'hv not reached to my confidence level because ramipril giving me dizziness and fainting along with dipression and i am not feeling comfortable.

please tell me ramipril is require for me or i can stop this medicine. this is my story - sir pls reply

You were lucky to post 2 questions two days apart.  Did you know that you are only suppose to post one question every 6 month?  I have more questions too but I wait for my turn as I have in the past.

Actually the rule is 2 questions every six months

130/90 with the new guidelines is treated as pre-hypertension (high bp). If it made you faint it is because you got up to fast or your pressure dropped to low.

My EF changes with different echoes, too.  1% difference is nothing esp. with it being so high.  For your dr. to put that fear in you is unreasonable!

Most people with MVP do not need any surgery for valve replacement.

Why not do a search here in this forum of MVP and ejection fractions, I think you will find some reassurance in them.

I am not on meds for my MR or TR.

I am on a bb and ccb for inappropriate sinus tachycardia and neurocardiogenic syncope.  Plus I get other palpitations.  I don't think any of it is related to the MR and TR.

Again, I like to say maybe if you take a smaller dose you won't have a problem with side effects.
