Worried about ventricular extrasistole

Hi. I am a 30 year old mexican man with an overweight ( height 185 centimeters ) weight 107 kilos. I have ventricular extrasistoles  since last wednesday ( sorry I don't know if that is the proper name im English)like if the heart stops and continue with a strong heartbeat. I suffer from anxety problems since last year. I am takin Clonazepan 2.0 mg ( 1.0 mg a day ) I went to my doctor and he discover this arrythmia during auscultation and theh he did an electrocardiogram. in the electro he discovered 3 ventricular extrasistoles in 1 minute. I aslo have chest disconfort and shostness of breath ( never together with the extrasystoles) he told me this is due the anxety disorder and i should not wory about. But i'm worried. I don't want to do exercise becuause of a heart attack. He gave me Atenolol 50 mg a day and clonazepan 1.0 mg a day. I am worried that it could be artery coronary disease. now. i feel quite well but when the arrythmia or the chest discomfort appears i start thinking i have a serious problem. What should i do? Thanks in advanced

jals,

At 30 the likelyhood of significant CAD would be highly unlikely. You might look through the forum to see that many others suffer from what you have, which is known as palpitations. The finding on your ECG would also be known as a PVC. I would probably check an echo, and if it was normal, encourage you to exercise. While you are young enough that obstructve CAD is unlikely, the lifestyle changes you make now will have their impact in 10-20 years!

Anxiety can play a big role in how people cope and deal with PVCs/palpitations and many cope in a negative manner. If your anxiety is very severe you might seek treatment for it also.

good luck
