Kevin,
I am a 52 yr old female. I am a 2 1/2 yr Breast Cancer Survivor...(YEA!), so, I have done this drugs takin' away my hair thing! My hair came back thicker, curly & less grey! Well, my Dr. put me on Zocor for high cholesterol 2 mos. ago...I noticed about 3 1/2 weeks ago that there was more hair in my brush...and, it felt thinner. Well, it's getting BAD! I called my Dr. this morning & they're taking me off Zocor which DOES cause hair loss, at least it is one of the side effects. NO guarantee that it will come back either!!! I tell Ya!!! Well, if it get's worse, I have my wigs!!! GOOD LUCK TO YOU & ANYONE else having this problem.

There are a lot of heart medication and antidepressants that cause hair loss.  Vitamin B and potassium increases hair growth, but you will need to talk to your doctor first before trying anything over the counter.

Please be aware that statins cause more than hair loss, and there are much safer alternatives.  More important than the hair loss (though I am sure this is a big issue for many) is the fact that statins cause CoQ10 deficiencies that CONTRIBUTE to Heart Failure.  I'd rather drop dead of a heart attack than suffer for years with Heart Failure if I had a choice.  Be aware, coronary heart disease may not be increasing but there is an epidemic of Heart Failure in the western world, and the disease is devastating!  The answer to heart disease is not more drugs and surgery!  Diet and lifestyle changes may not be easy, but hey we are talking about the quality of your life here.  Come by Heart Failure Solutions and educate yourself about how to defend yourself against heart disease, preferably BEFORE you start taking anything your doctor gives you in a little yellow bottle.  Be well, many blessings.
