a new procedure called pacing

my husband in the last year was diagnosed with dialated cardiomyopathy chf  he also had a tia and copd he has a 20% ejection fraction his dr recently mentioned a new procedure called pacing can you tell me anything about it. he also takes 200mg of lasix 50 of aldactone and 10 of zaroxlyn which keeps his potassium and magnesium low he is on 40 mg of mag ox and 120 of potassium can you explain how all this works  thank you linda

The pacing that you are referring to, I think, is biventricular pacing. This is a new, and still somewhat experimental, method of pacing both sides of the heart to improve its pumping efficiency in patients with congestive heart failure.
