Taking your carotid pulse pressurePressure ulcer (the difference between the systolic and diastolic pressure, ie the top number minus the bottom) can indicate a low stroke volume. This is typically seen only in patients with shock. In someone who otherwise feels well, a small difference between the two likely means nothing.
I frequently find this pattern in my patients with large arms, where it can be difficult to hear where the second sound stops.
And yes, to answer your question, they do usually tend to travel together.
