abdominal aortic aneurism(aneurysm)

i have a aaa at 3.7 cm and am in the process of doing tests such as stress ect for my cardiologist. I have already been pre diagnosed with this so now im waiting to finish results and see the cardo. while im waiting is there anything i can do or avoid doing to prevent further damage. what are the chances that i will require surgery and what options are out there for minimul evasive surgeries should it come to that? I am a very physicaly hard working man and accustomed to hard labor, and long hours. I am in good shape other than this. Is there anything I should not be doing? and my shortness of breath has increased in the last year. wheras i could work all day now i can bhardly wal;k to the mailbo and back without shortness of breath. is this a bad sign? thank you for any and all responces.

I also have an aneurysm but mine is in the ascending aorta and measures 4.5 cm. What I've been told is that I should avoid heavy lifting and also watch my blood pressure/heart rate. So you may have to cut back on the physical labor and make sure your blood pressure is being kept low. Are you on a BP medicine?  Also, if you're a smoker then it's time to give it up.

I know surgery is normally suggested when the ascending aorta reaches 5.0 cm, but I don't think surgery is recommended for an abdominal aneurysm until it reaches about 5.5 cm. However, you are having shortness of breath so your cardio needs to find out what's causing that.
