I'm sure there's more to the story, but.........I don't understand the urgency.

Sixteen days after my surgery,  any sexual type activities were the LAST thing on my mind.

I'd say if you feel up to it, go for it.  What's the worst thing that could happen?

I can't directly speak about post op heart surgery, but after two spinal surgeries, my doc told my wife that "stairs are OK, sex is OK, sex on the stairs in NOT OK!"  Interpret that how you will!  Believe me, it was the last thing on my mind at that particular point.
