  Do you have record of bradycardia patients not being able to utilize
  morphine as an anesthetic?
  My son (15) has malignant vaso-depressor syncope w/pace-maker, taking beta
  blockers and steroid.
  He also has flushing for which he is taking Claritin.
  He also has an inflamatory bowel disease for which he is undergoing research
  to determine treatment.  
  Upon determining if he had carcinoid syndrome, he underwent many scans, bio-
  chemical testing and biopsies.  Prior to an appendectomy, I am sure I heard
  the anesthesiologist remark that he could not use morphine due to the
  Bradycardia.  It was the first I had heard that, and they were all in a hurry
  so I did not get a chance to question it.
  Early in the summer, my son had a colonoscopy performed, was given Demoral.
  He had an allergic reaction to it during the procedure.  He had another
  colonoscopy done just last week, and though it was in his charts concerning
  the morphine by my remark, it was overlooked and he was given morphine.  He
  was monitored closely and there were no subsequent problems, but I would
  still like to know if there is a restriction of morphine with Bradycardia
  patients.

Thank you for your question.  There is no contraindication to give morphine to someone with bradycardia.  Morphine can lower blood pressure and low blood pressure is a relative contraindication.
