angiogram

i am 40 yrs old, i just have a myocardial infarction last oct 6. stayed at hospital fo 4 days 2 days in icu and 2 days at ward. they are asking me to undergo an angiogram. do i really need that?

You should have an angiogram performed.  In fact, in patients who suffer a heart attack we perform the angiogram during the initial admission.  Based on the findings we may offer fixing the lesions in the heart vessels with stents or even recommending bypass surgery.  That has been show to have a survival benefit in patients such as you.  Doing the angiogram later on will give your doctors an idea of what else is going on with your heart.
