aortic cysts

I am 19 years old. A while back I went to the doctors and recieved an MRI, in which they found "subcentimeter aortic cysts". I have no idea if this is bad, but I figure if it is a cyst, then it is something. Anyone have any advice?

Wow, that's a new one on me.  I have had aortic problems, so I try to learn as much about aortic medicine as I can, and I've never heard of aortic cysts.  Usually the radiologist who reports on the MRI will state if any further treatment or work-up is recommended.  Do you have the report?  Do you know exactly where the cysts were located?  (The aorta is pretty long.)  Did the doctor that ordered the MRI mention them to you at all?  And do you mind saying what was the reason for the MRI?  Since it seems to be an unusual finding, it would help if you could give us more info, thanks.

It is a rare condition and required extensive research but there is Cystic echinococcosis caused by the parasite Echinococcus granulosus has worldwide distribution and poses a health problem in endemic areas. The cysts are frequently located in the liver and lung, but they may be found in any organ, including the brain, heart, and bone. Developed hydatid cysts are rarely found in the aortic wall, with only slightly over 10 cases having been reported, all involving the thoracic or abdominal aorta.
