aortic insufficiency

by bikechick, Sep 11, 2007 10:44PM
HI,
I am in my mid thirties and have just been diagnosed with aortic insufficiency.  However, with it came a sleuth of other issues and I want to know if these other conditions are causally related or separate from the diagnosis (mild mitral regurgitation, mild pulmonic insufficiency, fusion of right and left noncoronary aortic cusps, mitral valve thickening).  Also, what is the prognosis for this disease, what is the percentage of people needing surgery and at what point is surgery recommended?
Thanks
Maggie
