atenolol side effects

  I am presently taking 25mg of atenolol once a day and have only been taking it for less than a week. My husband says he has noticed a change in my personality, in that I am prone to being irritable and somewhat listless. Are these changes possible side effects of taking atenolol?

It is possible. Atenolol more commonly causes fatigue, depression, nightmares, etc., than what you describe. You should mention your symptoms to your doctor so he can change you to another medicine and see if the symptoms go away.
