atherosclerosis, pvc, chest pain

I am 69, have "mild" atherosclerosis of aortal arch (seen during lung CT scan 2 years ago), calcium build-up in blood vessel/s (seen on diagnostic mammogram last year), pvc 8 years ago and now for past week (especially when driving and stressed), mild chest pain during exercise since January (when shoveling snow and under heavy stress), am ex-smoker (heavy smoker but quit 12 years ago), family history of heart attacks, atherosclerosis, high BP (mine's normal so far). Doctor prescribed Lipitor last June for my high cholesterol but I've not started it yet.
What do my new symptoms mean? I should tell my doctor of the new pvc symptoms and chest pain, but should I keep exercising (cross-country skiing, pilates)? Should I start the statin drug? Do I need tests (beyond the liver test two weeks ago when again considering statins)?
