my mother in law had a 24 hour holter after had she a problem with her
heart. the moniter pickedup atrial fib, supraventricular tachycardia & aberancy
with intramitince ventricular tachycardia (not sure if this is spelled
right) it took them more then 24 hour to get her undercontrol.  she wants
a second doctor to see her but her primary dr refuses to refer her to anyone else
he said that he could handle it.  we would like to know if there is a doctor
who works with this type of condition in this area.  her doctor said she could
  go at any time

Dear Margie,
Thank you for your question.  The type of doctor that specializes in this area is called an electrophysiologist.  However, all cardiologists are also trained in this area and it may not be necessary for your mother to seek a second opinion.  If you tell me what city you live in perhaps I can refer you to someone in that area.
I hope you find this information useful.  Information provided in the heart forum is for general purposes only.  Only your physician can provide specific diagnoses and therapies.  Please feel free to write back with additional questions.
If you would like to make an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Heart Center, please call 1-800-CCF-CARE or inquire online by using the Heart Center website at www.ccf.org/heartcenter.  The Heart Center website contains a directory of the cardiology staff that can be used to select the physician best suited to address your cardiac problem.
