atrial septal aneurysm

I just found out that there is an atrial septal aneurysm is this serious and what can I do to get rid of it

by Cleveland Clinic, Oct 27, 2009 10:17PM
It means that the wall between your two atria is weak and moves back and forth between the atria. It can have serious sequelae as far as strokes is concerned and most advocate coumadin for stroke or TIA prevention.
It may be repairable via open heart surgery but this is usually an extreme step to take for such a problem. There may be in the near future stabilizing devices for this problem but I am not aware of any available at this point.
