Did anyone ever wake up with very vivid dreams and tachycardia??
Can it be from just dumping adrenalin.?

For me it was a matter of getting past some of the junk in my life causing the stress.  I was taking 0.5 mg Ativan at night, but I don't recommend benzodiazepines.  Even at the smallest dose they offer it was still a month of weaning and horrid withdrawal symptoms, complete with nightmares.

My husband has luck with Buspar - same relief, no addiction issues.  Though I'll tell you right off the bat I'm not a fan of meds.  Meds for this are a band-aid until you remove the real stress that's causing it.

I have adrenaline problems.  Basically, I have too much.  My body goes fight or flight on me for no apparent reason, and it affects me in ways like noctournal panic attacks, palpitations and some issues with my temper.  I do find that regular exercise (to spend the adrenaline) works wonders!  Even if I can't squeeze in 40 minutes of kickboxing, I make time for a walk, whatever it takes.  That's done more for me than any medication ever could, as far as I can tell, and the only side effect is better health.

Thanks for the responses. My dreams and started while on the beta blocker for PVC's. When I awake from the dreams the tach starts for 3-5 minutes. I stopped the beta blocker, kept the dreams, and added tach (but not every night). I am learning how to deal. I think some stress adds to it as well.
The tach gets to about 120. I guess adrenalin dumping from dream or regular stress can do the tach.
Keep Tori in your dreams. I stood next to her once. Not great.

I seem to be able to slow the tach by rubbing one artery in my neck. Don't do both arteries. One can stop the blood flow if one rubs too hard. Also, a freind send try eating a piece of bread and that slows tack. Any others???

Thanks

I have very vivid dreams, and used to wake with a tachy heart, but not so much since on the beta blocker.  But yes, I can have very weird dreams, but I have to deal with it to deal with the svt. Either I deal with the meds or deal with an ablation.  I can't deal with the everyday tach and svt episodes, it was consuming my life.

I have daily present, tachycardia ( mild, around 110-130)  and was prescribed a beta blocker. Actually, the one day I took one (and it was the only one) dose of a beta blocker I dreamed I was best friends with Tori Spelling, she and I had moved into my grandfather's abandoned, land-locked country house, all of my dead relatives were miraculously alive again, quite healthy looking and living there as well and that Howard Stern sailed a yacht up to the front door and took us all on a cruise.

I am not a fan of either.

I never took another dose of beta blocker.

If you are not taking any meds then maybe it is the tachy, but I rarely have had any extremely weird dreams, except when I took that pill.
