hello how are you doing?  i did some research and think you should look up gout or pseudogout. just read about it and see if it sounds anything like whats going on with you. also do you think you could have injured your leg in any way?

well they're not sure. when i was pregnant i had an ekg come back abnormal so they did an echo and told me that i had atrial septal defect (a hole in the middle of my heart) they wanted to fix it by putting a plug in the hole. well i was only 22 then and i was scared so i ignored what they told me. then last year i started having extremely heavy periods and lost so much blood that i needed a blood transfusion. i continued having the periods and needed more transfusions. then a few months ago i started passing out, became very weak and started waking up at night startled like in shock. after being hospitalized three times they found that my heart was bradycardic (in the 30 pulse rate at night) and that i had a second degree block (it would stop beating for about 5 seconds) so they said i needed a pacemaker. so i dont know why. i am assuming that i've probably always had a heart problem and that being anemic was just too hard on it. i was anorexic as a preteen and it seemed to me that ever since then my heart never felt normal. when i would excercise i would feel it jump all over the place and it felt like it stopped. my advice to you is do whatever they say (if you have a heart problem). dont be stupid like me and cause more damage.

yeah i hope not too!  if you dont mind me asking, how old are you? im 27 and I have a pacemaker for my heart. it is really scary and im very sorry that you have to go through any of this right after having a baby. i know its easier said than done but try not to worry. if for some reason it is your heart, stress is really, really bad for it. please keep me posted on what they find and im wishing you all the best!

yeah my calf was hurting, i had just had my second child (c-section) and it was a little warm (calf). they did ultrasound on only my calf if i remember correctly. if they havent checked ur calf i would strongly suggest that you ask them to. i know im not a doctor but i do know the symptoms of a clot are pain and swelling. i dont know what else it could be, have they given you any other cause?

so did you have a blood clot y did they think you had one for my pain is in the in the calf and some behind my knee the swelling you cantell in the calf a little but mainly on the sideis were you see it . when i had my ultra sound they run the dopplar from the top off my  groin to the back of my knee because they said it would let them know if there was any at the top and bottom the did not do my calf. thanks for comment with me

you know I'm not really sure but after i had one of my children they thought i might have a clot so they did an ultrasound but only on my lower leg. so if you had one in your pelvis how would they know with just a leg ultrasound. i would just mention it to the doctor and see what he or she says. what about the details of the pain and swelling?

would a clot in the pelvis not show up on the ultrasound all three of them has been negative that i have had so could it still be a clot i dont know what to think

maybe the clot is in your pelvis. have they mentioned that. you can develop them in your arms, legs and pelvis. i would think one in your pelvis if it were on the same side would maybe cause the issues in your leg. just a thought! also is the pain and swelling localized or is it the whole leg? is there warmth in the area of pain? and have you checked your pulse in the tops of your feet. it should be the same strength on both sides.

Has your doctor just left it at nothing being wrong?  If so, get a second opinion, the pain and swelling are indicators of something, and they need to keep looking until they resolve it.
