Dear Doctor,
My son is 18mos old with down syndrome and going through a lot of testing.
During this whole time, pulmonary hypertension is mentioned.  We are hoping
that it is secondary pulmonary hypertension but the possibility exists that
it is primary.  I'm wondering if a child is born with primary pulmonary
hypertension, what are the signs? Are they as obvious with an infant as
they would be with someone older?  He may have upper airway obstruction,
but can this cause his high pressures (he recently had a cath. for this
purpose).
Thank you, Vi
