breathing issues

I had a triple bypass 4 weeks ago, wounds seem to be healing nicely, the chest is getting stronger every day, etc, but last night, I was taken to the hopspital with a BP of 170 over 90 and a pulse of 120 BPM. My normal post surgery BP has been 120/70 and pulse is 85 (pre surgery, BP was 110/64 and resting pulse of 65.  I was given Aiivan and held for a couple housrs and released...what happened?

And now, today, I'm having trouble breathing....instead of feeling better, I
m starting to geel wrose, heart wise...the incisions, etc are no longer the convern, but the heart function is....thanks

Thank you for coming back and letting us know what happened. It sounded like a serious situation. Glad you're feeling better. I have asthma and I know how uncomfortable it is when I can't breathe well. No fun at all.

OK...I was misdiagnosed on this and it ended up that I had a sever case of pleural effussion in my left lung, hence the trouble breathing...there was no need to aspirate the lung, as I did the "huff" breathing exercises and have managed to clear the lung out on my own.

I agree with ireneo. Please get checked out and get some answers. Ativan, if that is what was given, is usually for anxiety, but you should have been given some instructions, a diagnosis, and info on what was going on..IMO.  I would call your Cardio as soon as possible or go back to the ER.

I think you should go back in and be seen, quickly. It would be nice if they had given you some feedback about what was going on last night. My concern is any edema in the lungs or around the heart. Don't wait; please get checked out.
