burning chest pain

For awhile now, my husband has been having a kind of burning chest pain that hurts enough to make him stop what he is doing. It usually happens when he gets excited or stressed. It has been happening a lot here lately and lasting longer. I can also hear popping in his chest when he sleeps. He is a smoker. He has also been complaining of headaches when he wakes up. His blood pressure is 163/83 then 5 min later 148/83. I am concerned, but he thinks it is nothing.

I have suffered 3 heart attacks and with each one the chest pain I had was a burning pain in the middle of my chest. Of course there were other symptoms that sent me to the hospital. Has he has any other symptoms with this? Either way, he needs to be seen. The sooner the better.
