caffeine's effect on echo

by labrat, Mar 20, 2006 12:00AM
I was wondering if a few morning cups of coffee would have any effect, however minimal, on a 2D full doppler echo (not stress-echo).

Would this cause an adverse effect, or would it be beneficial and how?
Thanks.

labrat,

No significant effect for the data obtained from a routine 2D echo.

Enjoy your latte.

good luck

Good question, I've wondered this myself.  Thanks for asking the question.

Like with some people at most the ECG telemetry may capture more PVCs or other benign palpitations and you might be slightly tachycardic but those are both benign conditions.

Of course I am not a doctor and basing this on information I have read.
